External Directory Services – Your directory services. The specific directory service that you want to use with Administration Platform are defined during installation/deployment – Azure Active Directory is currently supported.

Changes in your directory are reflected in Administration Platform user management automatically when the system syncs - this sync can overwrite changes made in Administration Platform. For example, if you delete a User in Administration Platform but keep the user in your syncing directory service, the user is recreated when the system syncs.

Roles – Sets of access privileges/permissions. Each permission defines an action that a user can perform in the system. Multiple Roles can be assigned to a user if needed.

Users – A user is defined as an individual (or system user) who can access data, perform actions on that data, and/or perform system administration functions. Each user is mapped to an appropriate Role to set their access privileges. In addition to External Directory Services, users can also be added manually or by CSV import.

Organizational Hierarchy – The structure of your organization, consisting of groups, subgroups, and users, is organized into a tree structure so that you can easily see what groups you have in your organization.
