Key Concepts

Path: A distinct path users take to complete a process, representing differences in step order, frequency, or conditional logic (e.g., “standard post invoice” vs. “requires purchase order escalation”).

Unknown Path: A process path Orby discovers through observation that wasn’t specified during initial setup.

Process Instance: A single execution of a process (e.g., processing one invoice). Useful for benchmarking time and behavior across repeated tasks.

Session: A continuous period of observation from when a user starts to when they stop recording. A session may contain multiple process instances.

Extracted Fields: A data point extracted from the screen that adds business context to a process (e.g., invoice amount, ticket type, priority). Used for filtering and root cause analysis.

Action: The most granular unit of behavior captured by Orby, such as clicking a button, typing into a field, or switching tabs.
